Permits & Inspections
Registration process is for general contractors and subcontractors (mechanical, plumbing, electrical and gas) licensed by the State of North Carolina to register with the Dare County Planning Department for online submission of permit applications, scheduling of inspections and reviewing inspection results. Any property owner who plans to act as their own contractor should contact the Dare County Planning Department at 252-475-5870 for additional instructions on how to complete the registration process.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO NEW ONLINE REGISTRANTS: Registration is a TWO step process. STEP 1 - Register your account by clicking on LOG IN link (top right corner). If you have one of the Community accounts (Google, Apple, Microsoft or Facebook) you may use one of those. Otherwise click on Create an account and enter an email address and complete the required information. You will get an email to verify your email address, so please verify it. This will create your account in Citizens Self Service. STEP 2 - Complete the application so the office administrator can link your account(s).PERMITS online access application OR Occupancy Tax/ Food & Beverage Tax online access application. You will receive an email when your account has been linked.
